Purpose of the course was to remind us that from the moment we chose to communicate a thought we start to edit the words. We edit the words by grama; we edit the thought by what is expectable in society. Our words are edited so much until our response no longer reflex what we are actually thinking. Examples would be a police officer who is giving a response un court. The phrase “well uh” before a sentence. He needs more time to edit what they are about to say. I once saw a conversation on being polite in a chat. It was “You know it is not polite to talk about someone in front of their face, now behind their back that’s another story”. What about a person who describe an alien encounter. They say there is no mouth so they communicate by reading each other mind. They say the ship has symbols or markings. If they have no speaking language; why would they have a written one. isn’t writing a way of expressing words over long distances, or long span of time.
